Here’s a view taken from Northam Burrows on the North Devon Coast not far from our holiday cottages. It’s a 23 acre park as well as being a Site of Special Scientific Interest owing to its wide range of coastal habitats. Charles Kingsley called it a “fertile sheet of smooth alluvial turf”! A fact unlikely to come up in a pub quiz admittedly, but there you go! Historic Appledore can be seen on the right of shot, and that’s lovely Instow just about visible on the other-side of the estuary.
